  1. Very often when we are executing a test we would like to attach a screenshot. In many test tools it’s possible just to copy and paste from a sniping tool, but in practitest it seems to be necessary to save the screenshot as a file and then upload this file. This is pretty cumbersome. I suggest that you implement such a feature.

You can now paste directly to the attachments section on each step, as well as in the description fields in most areas in the system. You can also drag & drop to description fields any images and they will be embedded inside the text.

  3. When reviewing tests cases, it would be useful to have a field to comment a step when a tester is reviewing someone else tests cases. This way, he can add comments without modifying the test case. In case of misunderstanding if the specification, from the reviewer, author of the test case can update the reviewer and doesn't need to rewrite the test case.

We are happy to announce that it is now possible to add comments for each step in a Scripted Test.

  4. We now have the ability to Create test sets from test library, but it'd be nice to have the ability to also add tests to existing test sets from the test library. Thanks!

  5. We would like the test history to be more detailed. Currently it only shows us what step was updated but not a comparison of the changes made. We would like to see what was changed and what it was changed to (before and after). This would be of tremendous help during an audit if anything were to come up.

  6. There are no pages in PT that actually remember the width of columns or sorts. This makes using PT pretty annoying for people who manage or run test sets, issues, or requirements.

  7. This would be used when trying to find something in a long list. For Ex: A user has a custom field called 'Team' which has a dropdown list. This field contains over 100 inputs. User would start typing 'User Exp...' and the feature would filter through all the options and present 'User Experience'. This feature can be seen on Jira. Without this feature a user has to scroll through each name to find the right option.

    Hi,

Kindly note that the autocomplete feature was added to list custom fields including Version system field. This option will be added to the Exploratory Testing module shortly as well.

    Thanks
    Christine

  8. enable an advance search, where we can set each field, whether it's a custom field or a system field.

  9. I would like to be able to reorder tests in a testset more easily, and preferably in bulk.
Generally I want to arrange the tests by component, or tester, or ID; all of the useful sorting options I can think of are currently available as column headers.
It would be very useful to have a sorting feature which would allow quick reordering by column headers. For example, sort by tester and then component. Whith that, each tester can click "Run" on their first test case, and PractiTest would go through their tests, in order of component.
    A simple option would…

  11. The combo box for multiple selection is too small so all the options are not visible and you have to scroll to search the appropriate option. This is annoying, especially when you want to select multiple options.

    Hi,

Kindly note that we changed the multi-list field appearance so that from now on there is the autocomplete option and all the values are displayed properly.

    Thanks
    Christine

  12. Currently there is no way to select multiple test instances in a set and mark them as passed/failed or blocked. We suggest adding this option to save time in case the tester know that several tests can be modified accordingly. This will save a lot of time and effort of clicking.

  13. During initial importing of test cases from another tool or project, batch edits are a very important tool. However, for some reason, tags are not available in batch edits. The tags field should be added.

  14. The ability to find a certain word/variable and replace all instances of it in one go. Should also have the ability to change some of the instances and not all (maybe you could skip to each instance similar to the find feature on Mac when in a window and you press Command + F and then use the arrows to skip to each instance)

  15. Current integration with ADO is only syncing the Description information section from ADO to PractiTest but in most cases there are multiple information sections depending on the Work Item type in ADO like Acceptance Criteria for requirements and Repro Steps, System Info and Acceptance criteria for a bug in ADO. It will be great if the syncing is not limited to just Description information section but is smart enough to sync all the information sections to PractiTest when the sync is done.
Also there are other important fields like Release Date and Priority for the Requirements which must be synced…

    Hi,

Kindly note that from now on you can create Test Sets directly from the Test Library by selecting test cases and pressing ‘Create a TestSet’.

    Thanks for improving PractiTest.

    Best regards,
    Christine

  17. Add Test directly from a Requirement and link them for traceability at the same time. When we create our tests they are based on the content of particular requirements so it would provide a much faster way to develop test coverage and prevent from have to search to associate them together afterwards.

  19. When exporting a view, especially one of issues. The ability to sort by a particular column does not exist. This feature would give stakeholders the ability to generate reports. For example, export all open bugs sorted by priority.
