  1. When creating a manual parameterised test set, multiple instances of a test case need to be added. At present this needs to be done individually. It is suggested that there is an option to 'Add multiple instances' to the dropdown menu by the '+ Add selected tests' (underneath Add all test in view). This triggers an input box to appear where a two digit number can be entered, and all test cases ticked will be added that number of times

  2. Rather than having to copy and paste parameters in from a datasheet, it would be good if we could map the parameters for multiple instances of a test case to a datasheet and import them
eg Select 10 instances of a test case, click an 'bulk update parameter' button or similar, which can then map to an excel datasheet

  3. When adding in the parameters there is a checkbox that is unpopulated by default. To enter a value in the parameter field, this needs to be checked.
Although in isolation it is a small thing to have to click the checkbox each time, it soon builds to a significant irritation when preparing multiple test cases

Same as you do in JIRA tickets - pasting a screenshot from clipboard within the create screen, automatically uploads it to the ticket.

  5. When we create custom fields or modify a System field, it would be great to add a Description that we could then view as a tool tip in the entity. This would give more context around the importance or purpose of the field and would give testers a more compelling reason for filling it in.

Right now, we document the purpose and description of each of the fields and filters we have set up in a wiki page. It would be nice to be able to manage this directly from PractiTest.

  6. Hello, Can we request to remove text " PractiTest: Linked Results (Runs)" from the view of the main screen and omit from issue type which are not integrated in setting of the project ? We just want to see it on the right pane which is ok

Is there any possibility to add this feature?

    Thanks,
    Faisal

  12. We would like the ability to print out empty test sets so that we may route them for review and approval. This report would print out the test set with each test case and their steps in a similar format to a detailed instance report (without the need of creating individual runs for each instance and leaving them blank).

An alternative would be to have a way to batch create runs for test instances so that we may use existing reports to print out our Test Protocol.

  13. Currently we are running into a wall with re-usability. Either we don't use parameters, and there's no re-usability and alot of cloned code for one single functionality, or we use parameters and every test with "Call steps from another test" will have to set up all the parameters on test set run.

I propose a way to set parameter values on a test level. So when we use "Call steps from another test", all the parameters for that called test are possible to be set from within the current test, allowing for a lot more re-usability within tests. Not all should…

  15. While creating a Permutation of a test set, after selecting all the field values of the new permutation and clicking on the Next button. On the next page, I get a list of all permutations which can only be selected but not editable. It will be good if the user can also edit it and give a Test Set name whatever suits. Because this feature is not available currently, I have to create the Test Set first and then edit it to change the test set name which suits my requirements.

  16. The user should able to reorder the Test Cases for a project in the Test Library.

    My requirement:
    I have 3 tests,
    Test 1, Test 2, Test 3

They are created in some order say, Test 1, Test 2 , & then Test 3,

But my Test 3 is the continuation of Test 1, what I actually meant is Test 3 will start from where I ended in Test 1.

So, I want my tests to be in the below order:

    Test 1
    Test 3
    Test 2

I tried several ways to reorder the tests but nothing worked.

    Some of…

  18. In integration with Jira, any story created in jira has to be explicitly imported to PT. You can give user an option to enable real-time integration with JIra, which means, when a new user story in created in Jira, it is automatically imported to PT in requirements module.

  19. When you prepare data in Multilist, there should be easier option to select them in filter preparation.
    Actual:
Set up multi-list field (eg. task number for functions) and prepare TCs with these numbers.
Prepare filter with multiple values - you have separately prepare filter or you have to click "Or", "open dropdown", "select value" repeatly.

    Expected:
Use shift/ctrl to select multiple values from multilist.
There should be displayed filed with selected list.
Clicking on field opens dropdown with selected values for editation of multiselection.
"X" will be over whole multiselection and delete whole selection
